Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma to host Lamberto Pignotti exhibition
The Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma will host an exhibition titled ‘Ho Fiutato il Mondo: Lamberto Pignotti & Co’ to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Lamberto Pignotti. Running from November 7 to December 12, 2026, the project explores the creative legacy of Pignotti, a poet, writer, and journalist regarded as a pioneer of visual poetry and ‘verbo-visual research.’
The exhibition will be spread across two venues within the Academy: the Sala Colleoni and the Galleria del Contemporaneo. The Sala Colleoni will feature Pignotti’s literary, editorial, and documentary materials, including artist books and visual works, alongside pieces by artists connected to his career such as Bruno Aller, Alberto D’Amico, and Piero Varroni. The Galleria del Contemporaneo will present audiovisual materials and archival video interviews.
Curated by Massimo Arduini in collaboration with Dario Evola and Enrico Bisenzi, the event is promoted by the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma with the patronage of Roma Capitale.
