Accademia Iniziativa Comune discusses sustainability at ASviS event
Accademia Iniziativa Comune participated in the presentation of the 2026 ASviS Report in Rome, an event focused on strategic priorities for Italy and the acceleration of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Spokesperson Carmela Tiso emphasized that sustainability must encompass social dimensions, including poverty reduction, social rights, and equitable resource distribution. She noted that true sustainable development is impossible if citizens lack access to essential goods or face economic uncertainty. Key policy recommendations for the upcoming legislature include supporting family purchasing power, strengthening social security, and ensuring accessible healthcare and education.
Confeuro President Andrea Tiso also addressed the report, noting concerns over recent setbacks in several 2030 Agenda indicators. Regarding agriculture, Tiso called for increased support for organic farming and the ecological transition, arguing that sustainability should serve as an opportunity for growth and competitiveness rather than a burden on agricultural businesses.
