Acceldata launches xFactory for governed enterprise AI

Acceldata has launched xFactory, a private AI software factory designed to build, test, and deploy governed AI agents and applications across hybrid enterprise environments. The platform operates on the xLake Data & AI platform, allowing enterprises to execute workloads on open engines such as Apache Spark, Trino, and Kafka while connecting to existing data in Snowflake and Databricks.

By bringing compute and governed access directly to where data resides, xFactory aims to solve the challenge of accessing regulated enterprise data that cannot be moved. This approach allows organizations to manage on-premises, cloud, sovereign, and edge data as a single estate. Acceldata CEO Rohit Choudhary stated that the tool is intended to end the tradeoff between moving quickly with AI and maintaining control over data governance.

Separately, industry discussions highlight that while cloud platforms like Snowflake provide powerful architecture for scaling data, they do not inherently guarantee data accuracy or consistency. Users often face persistent challenges such as duplicate records, inconsistent formats, schema drift, and ungoverned access, necessitating robust Master Data Management (MDM) strategies to ensure data quality for downstream analytics and AI.
