Accenture allows employees to carry over unused leave

Accenture is implementing a one-time change to its vacation policy, allowing employees to carry unused leave into the next fiscal year instead of facing a ‘use-it-or-lose-it’ deadline on August 31.

In an internal memo, CEO Julie Sweet urged staff to focus on driving revenue and securing new business, including ‘mega deals’, to ensure a strong fourth-quarter performance for shareholders. The policy shift is intended to prevent the typical annual scramble where employees rush to use accrued leave before the fiscal year ends, thereby keeping more staff available to serve clients and generate sales during the final weeks of August.
