Accenture stock declines 34% amid AI expansion and acquisitions

Accenture (ACN) has seen its stock price decline by approximately 34% since the beginning of 2026, trading around $175. Despite the market sell-off, the company has maintained significant operational activity, including the establishment of the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group in partnership with Google Cloud to implement AI models.

Recent strategic moves include the acquisition of McCoy & Partners in the Netherlands to enhance SAP expertise, the purchase of Japan-based Comware to support mid-market AI services, and receiving EU regulatory approval for the acquisition of VTS.

Institutional interest remains present; Baird Financial Group Inc. increased its holdings in Accenture by 3.4% during the second quarter, bringing its total ownership to 221,596 shares. Other investors, including McMillan Office Inc. and Triumph Capital Management, have also established or adjusted positions. While the stock has faced a downward trend, some analysts, such as TD Cowen, have raised price targets, suggesting the current valuation may be undervalued.
