Access Bank customer alleges disappearance of N3m in savings
A customer of Access Bank has alleged that approximately N3 million in savings were withdrawn from her account under suspicious circumstances between October 2025 and August 2026. In a viral video, the woman claimed that her balance was steadily depleted until nothing remained.
The customer stated that repeated visits to the bank resulted only in assurances that the matter was under investigation and that headquarters had been contacted. Unverified claims suggest the customer’s SIM card may have been linked to another person’s account following a period of inactivity, which could have facilitated the alleged transactions.
Access Holdings Plc’s Head of Media and Public Relations, Olakunle Aderinokun, and Access Bank have not yet issued official statements or responded to inquiries regarding the incident. The president of the Bank Customers’ Association of Nigeria has called for full transparency from the bank and advised the customer to escalate the matter to the Central Bank of Nigeria.
