Acciaierie di Bolzano secures 30-year production agreement

The Province of Bolzano has authorized a new 30-year concession agreement for the “Sede” and “Erre” plants of Acciaierie di Bolzano, with the possibility of a 30-year extension. The agreement aims to ensure long-term industrial production and job stability while allowing the company to invest in the area. Under the terms, the province retains ownership of the properties, while the Amenduni family continues to manage production.

The financial structure of the deal includes an annual lease fee of 1.74 million euros, adjusted for inflation, plus an estimated 2.4 million euros per year for maintenance costs to be covered by the concessionaire. This brings the total annual cost to over 4 million euros.

The facilities have been recognized as strategically important for national security under “Golden Power” regulations, as they produce stainless steels and superalloys used in defense, aerospace, and energy sectors. The agreement mandates a minimum average production capacity of 300,000 tons per year and the maintenance of current employment levels to avoid revocation of the concession.
