Accor opens Mercure hotel in Oradea with €15 million investment

Accor’s Mercure brand inaugurated its first hotel in Oradea, Romania, after a €15 million investment. The 90‑room Mercure Oradea, located in the city’s western district near the historic centre and Arena Oradea, operates under a franchise agreement with local investor Grand Hotel West and is managed by Spark Hospitality.

Andrii Davydenko, Vice‑President Operations for Ukraine & Romania at Accor, said the hotel “brings to life the brand’s promise of ‘Local Shared with Care’ and offers a genuine gateway to the city’s heritage.” Rareș Țicra, representative of Grand Hotel West, highlighted the project’s contribution to Oradea’s positioning as a European business‑leisure destination and its long‑term tourism and economic growth. The opening raises Accor’s Romanian portfolio to 26 hotels.
