Accor partners with Sun Group to add 5,300 hotel rooms in Vietnam

French hospitality group Accor and Vietnam's Sun Group have signed a strategic portfolio agreement to develop more than 5,300 rooms across the country over the next five years. The projects will include hotels, resorts and serviced residences in key destinations such as Phú Quốc and Đà Nẵng.

The deal introduces several Accor brands to the Vietnamese market for the first time, including Sofitel Serviced Residences, Swissôtel Living, TRIBE and Ennismore’s lifestyle brand SO/. Existing brands such as MGallery, Grand Mercure and ibis Styles will also be expanded. The first phase covers properties like the 250‑room Bana Hills Hotel Đà Nẵng (MGallery), the 180‑room Ruby Beach Hotel (MGallery) and the 300‑room SO/ Phú Quốc Ruby Beach.

Accor sees Vietnam as a dynamic tourism hub; the country is now its third‑largest Asian market outside India and Greater China, with 45 hotels operating. Both companies say the partnership will raise hospitality standards, boost the competitiveness of destinations, generate economic opportunities and support sustainable growth of Vietnam’s tourism sector.
