Accounting sector in Santa Catarina marks milestones and technological shifts

The accounting sector in Santa Catarina, Brazil, is highlighting both institutional milestones and professional evolution. The XXXI Accounting Convention of the State of Santa Catarina (Contesc) recently took place in Chapecó, drawing over one thousand participants including professionals, students, and business leaders. Organized by Fecontesc in partnership with Sindicont Chapecó, the event focused on “Accounting as a Management Tool,” featuring 30 lectures on topics such as artificial intelligence, tax reform, innovation, and governance.

In a separate development, the firm Semoc Semin Organizações Contábeis Ltda. is celebrating 40 years of operation. Founded in 1986 through the acquisition of Dr. Sebastião Dias de Deus’s office, the company has transitioned from manual processes involving typewriters and physical ledgers to digital integrated systems, marking a significant technological shift in the regional accounting landscape.
