Accra fires destroy car workshop and Chevrolet Cruze

A fire broke out on 3 August 2026 at a car‑spraying workshop in Kotobabi, Accra, engulfing equipment and other property. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded, contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading, but the cause was still under investigation and no injuries were reported.

Two days earlier, on 1 August 2026, a Chevrolet Cruze was completely destroyed by fire at La Town Park in Accra. GNFS firefighters arrived within minutes, extinguished the fire in about ten minutes and again reported no casualties. Both incidents prompted the service to remind drivers and business owners to observe fire‑safety measures and keep functional extinguishers on site.
