Accra Metropolitan Assembly graduates 20 metro guards, mayor warns against corruption

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) held a passing‑out ceremony on 30 July, graduating 20 newly trained Metro Guards – the 14th batch and the first such parade since 2016. The event took place at the Assembly’s Head Office under the theme “Service, Discipline and Commitment to the People within the Accra Metropolis.”

Mayor Michael Kpakpo Allotey addressed the recruits, urging them to avoid corruption, extortion, absenteeism, abuse of authority and any misconduct that could erode public trust. He emphasized that discipline, professionalism and integrity must guide their daily duties, and warned that any officer who breaks the law will face full consequences, including reporting pressure from senior officers.
