Accra police arrest two suspects for SHS placement bribery

Police in Accra have arrested two suspects, Vicentia Appiah Antwi, 24, and Suzzy Owusu, 18, for allegedly soliciting bribes to secure senior high school placements through the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

The suspects reportedly collected between GH¢9,500 and GH¢22,000 per person, depending on the desired school. The arrests occurred at the CSSPS Resolution Centre following a report by two twin sisters who provided evidence of the bribery attempts to the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu.

During interrogation, the suspects named Nana Yaw Boateng, a medical doctor in Kumasi, and Alex Asumani, also known as Lexus, as accomplices. The two suspects have been released on police enquiry bail while investigations continue to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
