ACE Awards honor Argentine theater talent for 2025-2026 season

The 35th ACE Awards, presented by the Asociación de Cronistas del Espectáculo, were held at the Teatro El Nacional in Buenos Aires to honor the 2025-2026 Argentine theater season. The ceremony recognized excellence across 31 categories, including acting, directing, writing, and technical roles.

Notable winners include Mariano Pensotti and Grupo Marea for Best Author, Corina Fiorillo for Best Comedy Director, and Leonardo Sbaraglia for Best Solo Performance. Julia Calvo received the award for Best Lead Actress in Drama/Comedy, while Mercedes Fraile won for Best Supporting Actress. The musical 'Hairspray' saw significant success, with wins for Best Musical Director (Fernando Dente), Best Choreography (Vanesa García Millán), Best Sound (Gastón Brisky), and Best Revelation (Damián Betular).

Special lifetime achievement awards were presented to Soledad Silveyra, Moria Casán, and scenographer Jorge Ferrari. The productions 'Company', 'Hairspray', 'La obra', 'Invasiones I', and 'Billy Elliot' were among the most highly nominated works of the season.
