Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026, for the PlayStation 5. A new narrative trailer has been released, providing a glimpse into the daily lives of the Endurance crew and the conflicts they face, including encounters with elite Sotoan air force units and super-weapons threatening the Central Usean Federation.

The announcement also confirms the return of the fan-favorite Annihilation Battle mode. This mission type requires players to launch counter-attacks to destroy all specified targets, such as solar power plants, oil tanks, air bases, and ammunition depots. Strategy is central to this mode, as players must manage resources by choosing when to use supply lines to rearm their weapons.

Additionally, the game will feature enhanced environmental destruction. Impacting flammable objects like oil tanks can trigger chain reactions that collapse nearby structures, and downed enemy aircraft may collide with buildings to increase battlefield chaos.
