Aceh authorities accelerate disaster recovery and reconstruction efforts

Authorities in Aceh are accelerating disaster recovery and reconstruction efforts across the province. In Aceh Tamiang, the regency government aims to complete the spending of additional Regional Transfer Funds (TKD) by November 2026. As of late August 2026, realization reached approximately 22 percent of the Rp36.8 billion budget, focusing on restoring roads, bridges, and basic infrastructure. The regency is also utilizing Rp52 billion in inter-regional financial assistance from Medan and Padang to manage landslide-affected roads.

Simultaneously, the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force has called for the Ministry of Agriculture to expedite its recovery programs in Aceh. The Ministry's total budget of Rp515.22 billion has seen a 52.9 percent realization rate. Key initiatives include the rehabilitation of damaged rice fields, the construction of farmer business roads, and irrigation projects. While irrigation networks have seen high completion rates, other sectors such as medium-damage land rehabilitation require faster implementation to meet year-end targets.
