Aceh floods and landslides cause one death and 13 injuries

Floods and landslides have struck three regencies in Aceh—Gayo Lues, Aceh Tenggara, and Aceh Tengah—between September 13 and 14, 2026. The disasters have resulted in one death and 13 injuries.

In Aceh Tengah, a landslide in Kampung Sanehen caused one fatality and left 13 people injured. The victims are receiving treatment at RSUD Datu Beru. In Gayo Lues, flooding affected villages in the Dabun Gelang district, while landslides in Putri Betung blocked the Blangkejeren–Kutacane road. In Aceh Tenggara, flooding impacted 12 villages across five districts, causing mud to enter homes, damaging bridges, and breaching embankments.

Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf has urged the public to remain vigilant due to the rainy season and the unstable condition of soil in areas previously affected by hydrometeorological disasters. Local disaster management agencies are currently conducting evacuations, clearing debris with heavy machinery, and monitoring the situation.
