Aceh government and DPRA agree on 2027 budget policy framework

The Aceh Government and the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRA) have officially signed the General Budget Policy and Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) for 2027. This document establishes the general budget policy direction and priority spending ceilings, serving as the essential framework for the upcoming 2027 Regional Government Budget Draft (RAPBA) discussions during the DPRA's third session of 2026.

This budgetary planning comes amid significant fiscal concerns regarding the expiration of Aceh's Special Autonomy Fund (Dana Otsus) in 2027. According to Bappeda Aceh, the province has historically relied heavily on these funds, which accounted for approximately 54 percent of Aceh's revenue on average between 2008 and 2025. While the proportion of Special Autonomy funding relative to total revenue dropped to between 38 and 39 percent following a reduction in 2023, the upcoming cessation of the fund poses a challenge to the sustainability of regional development programs and public welfare initiatives.
