Aceh officials coordinate airport connectivity and post-disaster recovery

Aceh Vice Governor Fadhlullah (Dek Fadh) is coordinating efforts to strengthen regional connectivity and accelerate post-disaster recovery in the province. During an audience with PT Angkasa Pura, the Vice Governor expressed support for enhancing services and flight connectivity at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, including the expansion of domestic and international routes and more routine direct flights for Umrah pilgrims.

Simultaneously, the central government is accelerating infrastructure rehabilitation in Sumatra. In a coordination meeting led by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, updates were provided regarding budget support from various ministries to expedite the reconstruction of sectors impacted by natural disasters. This includes the revitalization of educational facilities in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

Academic research regarding disaster management in Aceh highlights that while a 'pentahelix' collaboration model involving government, academia, business, community, and media is utilized, coordination remains largely situational and focused on emergency response rather than long-term prevention and mitigation.
