Aceh political parties undergo leadership transitions

Political parties in Aceh are undergoing leadership transitions and organizational consolidations. The Democratic Party has officially appointed Sayuti Abubakar as the Chairman of the Aceh Democratic Party Regional Leadership Council (DPD) for the 2026–2031 period. Following the decision by the central leadership, Nurdiansyah Alasta, who was also a candidate during the regional meeting, expressed his respect for the appointment and confirmed his continued commitment as a party member.

Separately, the United Development Party (PPP) has completed its organizational consolidation in Aceh. Chairman Muhamad Mardiono presided over the inauguration of the Aceh Provincial Leadership Council (DPW) and branch offices across 23 regencies and cities for the 2026–2031 term. Mardiono instructed cadres to focus on community service and begin preparations for the 2029 elections, emphasizing the importance of maintaining faith and being present to address public concerns.
