Acelen acquires naming rights for Arena Fonte Nova

The Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador has officially secured a new naming rights agreement with the energy company Acelen. The stadium will henceforth be known as Arena Acelen Fonte Nova.

The change follows the departure of the previous sponsor, a betting company, which was forced to suspend operations due to a federal government provisional measure. While the financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed, the partnership strengthens the institutional relationship between Acelen and Esporte Clube Bahia.

Acelen is owned by the Mubadala Capital fund, led by Khaldoon Al Mubarak, who also serves as CEO of City Group. Acelen has operated in the state since 2021, managing the Mataripe Refinery. The company stated that the new visual identity will respect the historical and cultural heritage of the venue.
