Acelen raises fuel prices at Mataripe Refinery in Bahia

Acelen, the operator of the Mataripe Refinery in Bahia, has implemented price increases for gasoline and diesel sold to distributors. The most significant hike affects diesel S-500, which rose by R$ 0.8746 per liter. Diesel S-10 increased by R$ 0.7046 per liter, while gasoline A saw a rise of R$ 0.1025 per liter.

These adjustments occur despite a federal government subsidy of R$ 1 per liter for diesel. Acelen has not yet indicated if it will adhere to this subsidy program. The Sindicombustíveis Bahia union expressed concern regarding market competition, noting that neighboring states supplied by Petrobras refineries are included in the federal subsidy, which may create disparities in the Bahia market.

Separately, Acelen executives highlighted the refinery's operational evolution under their management. Since taking control nearly five years ago, the company has invested approximately R$ 4 billion in modernization and environmental improvements. Controlled by Mubadala Capital, Acelen is aiming for a production capacity near 300,000 barrels of oil per day and is diversifying into renewable energy projects, including solar power and green diesel production.
