Display manufacturers debut high-refresh 720Hz OLED and 1,000Hz LCD monitors

The gaming monitor market is seeing significant technological advancements in refresh rates and panel types. LG Display has announced the mass production of a 24.5-inch 720Hz OLED panel specifically designed for esports. This panel features a 0.02ms response time and utilizes a proprietary driving algorithm to maintain stability at high refresh rates. It will debut in the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, which has been selected as the official monitor for the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026.

In the LCD segment, Acer has introduced the Nitro XV273U F5, which offers a 540Hz refresh rate at QHD resolution and can reach up to 1,000Hz at HD (1280x720) resolution. This IPS panel aims to provide high-speed performance comparable to OLED without the risk of burn-in.

Additionally, ASUS has unveiled the ROG Strix XG27ACDMSR, a 27-inch QD-OLED monitor featuring a 320Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time. It incorporates BlackShield technology to improve scratch resistance and black levels in bright environments. Other hardware updates include the Acer Nitro V 15 gaming laptop equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050.
