Acer and MSI launch budget gaming laptops in US and Japan

Acer announced the Nitro V 16 gaming notebook for the United States market, pricing it from $1,199. The laptop is equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 GPU, an Intel Core i5‑210H processor, 8 GB DDR5 RAM (upgradeable), a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and a 16‑inch 1200p IPS display that refreshes at 165 Hz. It houses a 76 Wh battery, a single USB‑C port with 100 W charging, three USB‑A ports, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and supports Wi‑Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

In Japan, MSI offered its Thin 15 B13U model at a 17 % discount, bringing the price to ¥119,800. The 15.6‑inch laptop features an Intel Core i5‑13420H CPU, 16 GB DDR4 RAM (expandable to 64 GB), a 512 GB SSD, and an Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics chip paired with a 144 Hz Full‑HD display. It weighs about 1.86 kg, is 21.7 mm thin, and includes USB‑C (video‑compatible), three USB‑A ports, HDMI, headphone and microphone jacks, as well as a backlit keyboard.
