Acer announces Predator Atlas 7 handheld gaming console

At the IFA trade show in Berlin, Acer announced the Predator Atlas 7, a new 7-inch handheld gaming console. Designed for high performance in a compact form factor, the device utilizes the same platform as the previously announced 8-inch model but features a smaller chassis.

The Predator Atlas 7 (PA07-I51) is powered by an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and Intel Arc B390 graphics. It supports up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 1 TB of PCIe Gen4 storage. The device features a 7-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with a DXC coating to reduce glare and increase scratch resistance.

To manage heat, Acer implemented a dual-fan cooling system, including a metal Predator AeroBlade with 89 blades and a Vortex Flow system to exhaust hot air. The console includes an 80 Wh battery and runs Windows 11 Home, offering compatibility with services like Xbox Game Pass. Acer also showcased Project DualPlay Mini, a conceptual device that can transform from a handheld console into a small laptop with a physical keyboard.
