Acer launches Predator Atlas 8 handheld gaming PC with Intel Arc G3 SoC

Acer unveiled the Predator Atlas 8, an 8‑inch handheld gaming computer that runs on Intel’s new Arc G3 Extreme system‑on‑chip. The device ships with Windows 11, an 80 Wh battery, a 120 Hz WUXGA touch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and a subscription to Xbox Game Pass for instant access to hundreds of games. Its graphics processor, Intel Arc B390, supports ray tracing and XeSS 3 AI‑upscaling, while the Endurance Gaming technology balances performance with power draw.

At Computex, the Atlas 8 was demonstrated alongside MSI’s Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld, both using the Arc G3 chips. Reviewers reported that the handhelds delivered 100‑120 fps in demanding titles such as Hogwarts Legacy and LEGO Batman, outperforming AMD’s Ryzen Z2 Extreme solutions by roughly 42 % at 1080p while remaining quiet and lightweight. The Atlas 8’s thumbsticks were noted as tighter than those on the MSI model, and both units featured 1920×1200 resolution panels with high brightness and variable refresh rates.
