Acer to launch Predator Atlas 8 handheld gaming console

Acer has announced the release date and pricing for the Predator Atlas 8, a premium handheld gaming console powered by Intel Arc technology. The device is scheduled to launch on November 1, with an initial retail price of $1,300. It will be available exclusively through Best Buy.

The console features the Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor architecture and utilizes Intel XeSS AI-based scaling technology to balance visual quality and performance. Hardware specifications include an 8-inch display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate (VRR) and an 80Wh battery designed for extended gameplay. Running on Windows 11, the device aims to compete in the high-end portable gaming market alongside competitors like the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally. Despite discussions regarding its high price point, Acer reported that the first round of pre-orders sold out completely due to high demand.
