Acer unveils Project DualPlay Mini hybrid gaming concept at IFA 2026
At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Acer unveiled several hardware concepts and products, most notably the Project DualPlay Mini. This concept device is a hybrid designed to transition between a handheld gaming console and a mini-laptop. It features an 8-inch display and a unique ‘flip-and-swivel’ mechanism that reveals a backlit physical keyboard for productivity or FPS/MOBA gaming. While specific hardware specifications like RAM and storage remain unconfirmed, the prototype utilizes Intel processing and a dual-fan cooling system.
Additionally, Acer introduced the PD163Q-P3, a portable triple-monitor solution. The device consists of three 15.6-inch IPS panels that can be folded into a compact form for transport. Each screen offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 Hz. The monitor is designed to expand the workspace for laptop users, though its color accuracy (45% NTSC) and 250-nit brightness suggest it is intended for general productivity rather than professional color-critical work.
