Experts caution that charging smartphones overnight can accelerate lithium‑ion battery wear. Batteries age fastest when held at 100% for long periods, and the heat generated by continuous trickle‑charging cycles contributes to gradual capacity loss over years.

Acer responded to the clutter of chargers with its new S1 7‑in‑1 wireless charging station, priced at $49.59. The compact device supports up to six gadgets simultaneously—including a phone, Apple Watch, AirPods and USB‑A/C accessories—while providing a clock, ambient lighting and Bluetooth time sync. Powered by a 30 W adapter, the station aims to replace multiple chargers and reduce cable buildup on nightstands and in travel bags.
