Acerinox exceeds 2026 growth forecasts with strategic EBITDA target
Acerinox is exceeding its growth forecasts for 2026, reporting a first-half profit of 77 million euros. The steel group is working toward a strategic goal of increasing its EBITDA by 500 million euros, a target supported by three primary pillars: factory investments, subsidiary synergies, and the 'Beyond Excellence' plan.
The 'Beyond Excellence' plan, launched in 2024, aims for a recurring gross profit improvement of 120 million euros by 2026 and has reportedly reached 93% of its target. Additionally, the group is pursuing significant investments, including $200 million in strategic projects through Haynes International and North American Stainless in the United States, intended to be operational by 2028.
CEO Bernardo Velázquez stated that the company is prepared to reach an EBITDA of 1,200 million euros—matching the 2022 record—once the market cycle enters a more positive phase. The company's recent performance has been bolstered by business improvements in the U.S. and the reactivation of a production line at its factory in Los Barrios, Spain.
