ACEXI launches COPPER-ACE to accelerate Indonesia climate targets

The Indonesia Carbon Expert Association (ACEXI) has launched the COPPER-ACE Initiative (Collaborative Partnership Program for Emission Reduction and Advancement of Climate Ecosystems) to accelerate Indonesia’s national climate targets. The initiative aims to build a transparent and robust climate change control ecosystem and improve the governance of Carbon Economic Value (NEK) through cross-sector collaboration.

Launched at the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta, the program brings together government officials, business leaders, academics, and industry players. ACEXI Chairman Lastyo Kuntoaji Lukito stated that reducing carbon emissions cannot be achieved in isolation and that the initiative serves as an integrative platform to align ecosystem strengthening, human resource development, and institutional capacity.

Government representatives noted that strengthening sectoral readiness, investment, and carbon trading mechanisms is essential for meeting Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets. The initiative also emphasizes the importance of capacity building to ensure climate solutions are sustainable and equitable by empowering domestic carbon experts.
