Achaia Olive Oil association forms first Board of Directors
The newly established non-profit association ACHAIA OLIVE OIL (AMKE ‘ACHAIKO ELAIOLADO’) has officially formed its first Board of Directors following its inaugural General Assembly held on October 9, 2026, in Patras.
Initiated by the Achaia Chamber of Commerce and AXEPAN, the organization aims to unify regional producers, cooperatives, and olive oil mills. The primary objective is to secure Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status for Achaia olive oil, allowing it to establish a distinct identity and improve its competitive position in international markets.
The newly elected five-member management committee includes Dimitris Deligeorgopoulos as President, Leonidas Karampelas as Vice President, Eugenios-Christos Stathakopoulos as Secretary, Konstantinos Gidiaris as Treasurer, and Konstantinos Lianos as a board member. Moving forward, the association will focus on documenting the specific characteristics of Achaia's olive production to provide the scientific evidence required for the PDO application process.
