Achaia Vice Governor promotes workplace health and safety in Aigio

Phokion Zaimis, the Vice Regional Governor of Achaia, attended an event at the Aigio Labor Center on October 10, 2026, following the completion of educational seminars regarding occupational health and safety.

Zaimis emphasized that workplace safety is a high priority for the Regional Authority of Achaia. He noted that the Achaia Occupational Health and Safety Committee was activated in March to monitor workplace conditions in cooperation with various stakeholders, including the Labor Inspection, the Fire Service, the Achaia Chamber of Commerce, and various labor and employer organizations.

The committee aims to ensure continuous monitoring of working conditions and better coordination of inspections to ensure businesses comply with safety requirements for their staff. To support these efforts, the Regional Authority has issued informative brochures and will now include a representative from the Aigio Labor Center in committee meetings.
