Achenkirch: Cobra unit shoots bull after attack on farmer

Following a violent bull attack in Achenkirch, Tyrol, Austrian special forces unit Cobra and veterinary officials conducted an intervention at a local farm. The incident began approximately one week ago when a 44-year-old farmer and his 68-year-old cousin were injured by a bull while attempting to separate it from a herd. The cousin required emergency transport to Kufstein Hospital via helicopter.

During the recent official inspection, the aggressive bull was shot dead by Cobra officers behind the farm. Authorities also discovered significant deficiencies in animal husbandry, leading to the seizure and removal of several cows from the property.

Local officials, including Mayor Karl Moser, noted that the pasture was inadequately secured by only a single band, posing a danger to the public road. The investigation suggests a long-standing conflict between the farmer and the municipality regarding the condition of the fencing, with the farmer having reportedly failed to comply with previous penalties.
