Achilleas Beos files lawsuit against referees over betting allegations

Achilleas Beos has filed a lawsuit at the Volos courts against referees Thanasis Zilos and Fotis Polychronis, accusing them of involvement in illegal betting. The allegations stem from the recent match between Volos and AEK.

Beos has issued a legal notice to the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO), demanding that both officials be removed from the refereeing rosters until the investigation is complete. He characterized the referees as “main contributors” to a crime against Greek football and the Volos club.

Furthermore, Beos has requested that the case file be forwarded to the Supreme Court and the prosecutor responsible for illegal betting. He also called for the lifting of telephone privacy regarding communications made before and after the match to facilitate a full investigation.
