Achumbemo Kikon inaugurates SDPDB conference hall in Bhandari

Achumbemo Kikon, Advisor for SCERT and Food Processing and Chairman of the Sub Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) Bhandari, inaugurated a new three-story conference hall and chairman’s office on October 9. The facility, constructed under a State Plan at the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s office premises, includes additional secure strong rooms not originally specified in the Detailed Project Report.

During the event, Kikon highlighted the administrative needs of the Bhandari constituency, which includes approximately 27,000 voters and 84 polling stations. He suggested the area has sufficient grounds to request a district election office.

In a subsequent SDPDB meeting, Kikon addressed local healthcare shortages, specifically the prolonged absence of a Senior Medical Officer and a lack of doctors and nurses at the Bhandari Community Health Centre. He also discussed plans for a temporary jeepable road connecting Merapani and Mekirang villages, noting that an estimate committee has been formed to assess the project.
