Achyuta Samanta elected president of Indian UniSport Federation

Prof. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and KISS, has been unanimously elected as the first president of the Indian UniSport Federation (IUSF). The federation, approved by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, aims to create a coordinated and inclusive framework for university-level sports in India, facilitating the identification and development of athletic talent across 27 state and regional university sports associations.

In a separate development, Prof. Samanta launched a new book titled ‘The KIIT Model: Pioneering Higher Education towards the SDGs’. The publication explores how the KIIT ecosystem integrates academic excellence with social responsibility and environmental stewardship to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The book highlights the university’s role as a ‘Living Laboratory,’ utilizing campus infrastructure for practical applications in solar power, waste management, and biodiversity conservation.
