ACI Worldwide and Cognizant test card processing on AWS
ACI Worldwide and Cognizant have announced the results of joint performance testing for BASE24-eps, a core component of ACI’s card acquiring and issuing solutions, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
During simulated point-of-sale load testing, the system sustained more than double its target transaction load for 30 minutes without any failed transactions. The full test processed over 4.6 million transactions with a zero-failure rate. The testing utilized Amazon EC2 and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, with monitoring conducted via Amazon CloudWatch and OpenTelemetry standards.
The collaboration aims to demonstrate that banks can migrate existing card processing software to managed cloud services to better manage volume spikes, such as those during holiday shopping, while maintaining security and cost efficiency.
