Acireale man arrested for 18 years of alleged domestic abuse

A 51-year-old man has been arrested in Acireale, following an order for precautionary custody issued by the Court of Catania. He is accused of domestic abuse and personal injury against his wife and four children, two of whom are minors.

Investigations conducted by the State Police suggest that the physical and psychological violence lasted for approximately 18 years. The victims reportedly lived in a constant state of fear and intimidation, fearing retaliation if they reported the abuse.

To ensure their safety, the wife and the four children—including two adult daughters and two minor children—have been transferred to a protected facility with a confidential address. The suspect remains in prison pending further legal proceedings.
