Acireale Mayor honors five long-term emigrants

The Mayor of Acireale, Roberto Barbagallo, held a ceremony at the City Hall to honor five long-term emigrants from the city. The recipients, who have lived abroad for many years, were recognized for maintaining deep emotional and cultural ties to their birthplace.

The group includes Rosario Marletta, a resident of Australia for nearly sixty years; Salvatore Marletta and Venera Leonardi, residents of Pisa; and Salvatore Consoli and Nunzia Cantarella, residents of Brescia. During the meeting, the emigrants noted that Acireale has evolved into a more modern and attractive city since their departure. To mark the occasion, Mayor Barbagallo and council member Paolo Monaco presented the guests with official city recognition.
