Daniel Vorcaro testimony delayed amid Banco Master corruption probe

The Federal Police investigation into Banco Master has faced delays due to technical issues during a scheduled videoconference testimony for former banker Daniel Vorcaro. Vorcaro, who is currently in preventive detention, is being questioned regarding his alleged relationship with former Central Bank supervisors Paulo Sérgio Neves de Souza and Bellini Santana. Investigators suspect the officials may have received improper advantages to act in favor of the bank during its liquidity crisis and subsequent extrajudicial liquidation in November 2025.

In a related development, João Carlos Mansur, former president of Reag Investimentos, has submitted a plea bargain proposal to the Prosecutor General's Office (PGR). The proposal includes 17 annexes and a proposed fine of R$ 40 million. Mansur's submission aims to provide details on financial operations that may have been used to artificially inflate Banco Master's assets, potentially involving shell companies and offshore structures. While Vorcaro's defense has had multiple plea bargain attempts rejected by authorities for lacking sufficient evidence, Mansur's new proposal is currently under review by the PGR.
