Acne Studios and Hussein Chalayan announce design collaboration

Acne Studios has announced a capsule design collaboration with British-Cypriot designer Hussein Chalayan. The collection features twelve pieces that reinterpret some of Chalayan’s most iconic and groundbreaking designs from the early 2000s.

Creative Director Jonny Johansson and Chalayan have focused the collection on experimental materials, specifically denim, jersey, and leather. Notable items include patchwork jeans utilizing Acne Studios’ signature silhouettes from 1996 and 2009, an asymmetric denim vest, and a layered dress inspired by Chalayan’s 2003 ‘Manifest Destiny’ collection. The collaboration also includes a new patchwork version of the Acne Studios ‘Camero’ handbag.

Launched during Frieze London, the collection highlights Chalayan’s reputation as an avant-garde visionary known for blending fashion with architecture, technology, and art. The release is accompanied by a book and was photographed at the V&A East Storehouse.
