Acne Studios celebrates 30 years with Nan Goldin denim campaign

Swedish fashion house Acne Studios is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a new denim-focused campaign photographed by acclaimed photographer and activist Nan Goldin.

The brand, which began in 1996 as a creative agency named Acne (an acronym for 'Ambition to Create Novel Expressions'), transitioned into clothing after co-founder Jonny Johansson produced 100 pairs of limited-edition raw denim jeans with red stitching for his social circle in 1997. This denim heritage remains central to the brand's identity.

Goldin’s campaign features portraits of individuals from the brand’s creative network, including artists and musicians such as Juliette Lewis, Ellie Rowsell, and Jonathan Lyndon Chase. The visuals showcase a combination of contemporary pieces, archival models, and reissued iconic denim items.
