ACP Vivek Bhagat wounded in Delhi protest, multiple injuries reported

ACP Vivek Bhagat, the senior police officer at Connaught Place, was injured during a protest by the CJP near Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He was taken to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where doctors recorded injuries to both hands, both feet, his shoulder and swelling behind his head. He also suffered ear bleeding and vomiting. After primary treatment he requested further care at AIIMS and was discharged once his examinations were completed.

Delhi police said more than 118 officers and about 60 protestors were injured in the clash, with over 20 police vehicles damaged. Several FIRs have been filed and security in the area has been tightened. The protest, which continues, demands the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
