Acquasanta Terme to host new regional Data Center

Works have been delivered for the construction of a new regional Data Center in Acquasanta Terme, located in the Piceno area of the Marche Region. The project represents an investment exceeding 3 million euros and is part of the strategic interventions outlined by special ordinance 95.

The facility is designed to serve as a high-tech information hub for the Marche Region, ensuring the continuity of digital services during emergency situations. The new structure will be built on the site of an industrial warehouse in the Acquasanta industrial zone that was damaged during the 2016 earthquake. Due to structural criticalities, engineers determined that demolishing the existing building and reconstructing it to modern standards was more effective than attempting to retrofit the old structure.

Extraordinary Commissioner Guido Castelli described the project as one of the most significant technological investments in the Marche seismic crater area, aiming to transform Acquasanta into a strategic node for the regional digital network. The center is expected to improve local connectivity and provide new opportunities for nearby businesses and public buildings.
