Acquedotto Pugliese expands sanitation and launches online cockroach reporting tool

Acquedotto Pugliese has increased resources for the sanitation of the regional wastewater network and introduced a dedicated web form on its aqp.it portal. The form allows citizens to report cockroach (blatte) infestations with details on location and conditions, enabling targeted interventions.

The enhanced measures complement regular cleaning programs and rely on coordination between the water utility, local municipalities, residents, and food‑service businesses. Officials note that milder winters, higher temperatures, food waste and reduced natural predators are boosting cockroach populations, though the insects are not disease vectors in Italy.
