Acqui Terme hosts presentation of medieval history volume honoring Romeo Pavoni

A series of events dedicated to the history and research of the Acqui Terme territory concluded on September 15 at Palazzo Robellini. The final meeting featured the presentation of the volume ‘Città e Territorio nel medioevo acquese’, edited by Luca Secchi and Edilio Riccardini.

The publication serves as a tribute to the late historian Romeo Pavoni, collecting the proceedings of a study day held in his memory. The work covers a wide range of historical topics, including medieval documentation of the Church of Acqui, the history of tenant farmers in Liguria and the Bormida Valley, and studies on Monferrato and Oltregio. It also includes Pavoni’s research on the Near East and specific archaeological findings related to the castle of Moncrescente.

The event was promoted by the International Institute of Ligurian Studies (IISL) – ‘Statiella’ Section, in collaboration with the Municipality of Acqui Terme and the Acqui Musei museum system.
