Public Ministry agencies in Brazil launch multiple investigations

Public Ministry bodies across various Brazilian states are conducting several investigations and administrative actions. In Acre, the MPAC is investigating suspected nepotism in the Bujari Municipal Chamber involving commissioned employees and is also monitoring urban planning in Cruzeiro do Sul, specifically regarding the 2027 Master Plan revision and potential environmental irregularities involving deforestation and mineral extraction.

In Mato Grosso, the MPMT has secured a court order to suspend construction and sales at the Cidade Jardim real estate development in Cuiabá due to suspected environmental and urban planning irregularities. Additionally, the MPMT is seeking urgent judicial intervention to protect local wildlife, such as capybaras and caimans, in Cuiabá's urban parks following frequent animal roadkill incidents.

In Rondônia, the MPRO has established five new specialized nuclei to strengthen the defense of human rights, covering areas such as childhood and youth, consumer rights, health, agrarian conflicts, and digital vulnerability. Meanwhile, the National Council of Justice (CNJ) ruled to maintain current notary fee rules in Acre, noting that any updates to fee brackets must proceed through the state legislative process rather than administrative changes.
