Acre candidates Bocalom, Luisinho unveil development projects

Tião Bocalom, former mayor of Rio Branco and pre‑candidate for the Acre governorship, toured a series of municipal‑funded infrastructure works with running‑mate Sargento Adônis. He highlighted the Agroindustrial Complex for family agriculture, which processes rice, beans, corn and soy, a soy‑milk processing unit nicknamed the “mechanical cow,” and the ongoing revitalisation of Mercado Elias Mansour, presenting them as models for state‑wide development. Bocalom said, “I made sure to bring Sargento Adônis to see what we did in Rio Branco… produce to employ.”

Dr. Luisinho, also a pre‑candidate for governor, proposed a regionalisation of health care in Acre. His plan calls for four large regional health complexes serving Alto Acre, Baixo Acre, Vale do Juruá and Purus, intended to reduce the need for patients from interior municipalities to travel to Rio Branco. He argued, “The Acre population has been traveling to the capital for care; we need to regionalise health,” and stressed that the state would work with municipalities to strengthen basic care and improve service delivery.
