Acre Court suspends R$ 30 million viaduct project

The Court of Accounts of the State of Acre (TCE-AC) has ordered the suspension of the Corrente Viaduct construction project in Rio Branco. The project, valued at over R$ 30 million, was halted following the identification of potential irregularities regarding the formation of the Consórcio ConectaVia.

Technical analysis suggests that the consortium, composed of Albuquerque Engenharia Importação e Exportação Ltda. and MBC Estruturas Ltda., may have been improperly formed. While Albuquerque Engenharia participated individually in the bidding process on March 25, 2025, the partnership with MBC Estruturas was reportedly only formalized on September 23, 2025.

The Court is investigating whether the subsequent addition of MBC Estruturas was used to meet technical qualification requirements—such as steel structure installation and concrete work—that the original bidder could not fulfill alone. The suspension prevents further contracting until a final deliberation is reached.
